I think I will start with installing new bunks. They are likely the originals, so it is probably time for new ones. I will call for a quote.

My original post may be confusing. I will ask it a different way.If you have 2009 or so Sabre, how much clearance do you have between the center roller (the one close to the axle) and the bottom of the boat (the pad/keel)? I would assume this should be an inch or two, and that the roller is only meant to be used when loading the boat. I am not speaking of the rear roller, but the one in the center of the trailer. My trailer also has a “slide” on the front cross member (no issue there).

Thanks Chicagobass. I am looking forward to getting out on the water soon!

Burnin Stump Lodge is the place I stay (often). Prices are good and the place is super clean. Covered boat parking, large rooms, and a great owner. It is located just west of the 515 bridge, very close to a good public (free) launch. Fishing in the fall can be a little tough, but schooling fish should be up.

I believe the nightly rate at Burnin Stump is $60-70 per night. Tell him you are staying for several nights and ask for a good rate. I promise you will like the place.,

It would seem the straight roller would have the same effect as slotting the tabs….. giving clearance. That is unless the v-shaped roller is needed to guide the boat to the center of the trailer. I would think the bunks would be guiding the boat by the time you reach the roller?? Also, slotting the tabs may lead to a rattle? Thanks for the advice!

Ricochet,Thanks for the feedback! How much clearance to you have now over the roller?

I need more clearance than a single layer of carpet. I am pretty sure it is all stock.

Ill reserve judgement until I see what effect this has on product, quality and customer service. But when I start hearing about “synergies”, “efficiencies of scale”, etc., I will get very concerned. And I sure hope we do not see any chartreuse BassCat boats with checkered flag graphics!

Personally, I stick with trailer tires….. I have used Kuhmo and Maxxis tires. They seem to be up to the job. There are about a zillion posts about this on the Internet.

My brother races a modified dirt track car. His motto – you can never have too much horsepower. Although I have seen him remove a plug wire when his car spins the wheels too easily!

You will need to get the wheel offset from BassCat and get wheels with the correct offset and the right bolt pattern.

The guy that hit you should be paying for the repair. Do you have a name and/or witnesses?

When I want to get back to a simpler fishing trip, I load up my Kayak and head to a smaller lake. But I do have a small depth finder on it!

I found the hydraulic plate to be helpful when running in very shallow places such as Okeechobee. Otherwise, limited value to me. Id spend the money on a couple of good fishing trips!
