Here are some pics for yesterdays trip to the Basscat factory:
The boat next to mine was a basic Saber without the frills (no jackplate basic electronics etc) that Bass Cat has been playing with. Ivan said it has great holeshot and runs decent with the 90. He said that the Saber doesnt weigh more than other companys 17″ boats. Larry Brumley
The colors are apricot and white with black fox trim so it is not as red as coral. The black fox is kind of a silver with orange flecks in it. They were getting ready to paint my trailer frame yesterday and it is going to be grey with white and apricot pins. The fenders are apricot like the consoles and hull and looked great. The orange seat inserts were a special color that Ivan came up with when I said I didnt like any of the standard seat colors. The whole process on my boat has been fun and I told Ivan and Rick that even if no one else liked the colors but me I was thrilled with how it was coming together. Now if only they will put motors on both ends it may just fish as good as it looks. Larry Brumley
Beautiful boat!!! Looks awesome. The fun of the whole thing was deciding on color combinations. Larry Brumley
If any of the above boat companies would sponsor a pro to run their boats a pro would run one. To get a real name pro they would have to ante up. A pro has to run whichever boat makes him the best deal. It is a business!!! Larry Brumley
I would love to pick it up now but dealer says they need till Fri. afternoon to get it ready and i need to go by the bank to get the money plus I am taking my old Triton to the same dealer to get it serviced and checked out so I can get it on the market to sell as soon as the hard water problem is gone so I can demo it. Larry Brumley
That is one beautiful cat… Enjoy!!! Larry Brumley
The break in on the motor is about the same as a two stroke with the first two hours at no more than 3,000 rpm and vary the speeds. Then the next eight hours with not running wot for more than five minutes. Larry
I think that everyone gets the same treatment at least I did. It is a nice gesture. Larry Brumley.P. S. the only negative was they didnt have Orange as a color choice for the jacket (the Grey was pretty nice)
Just started the break in of my SHO last Sunday the first hour you need to keep it trimmed down and not exceed 3,000 Rpm. Hour two run it on plane at varying Rpm (not WOT). After two hours through ten hours drive normally not to exceed five minutes of continuous WOT. LarryBrumley
I have been wearing long sleeve cotton T shirts in light grey color for years. They are cooler than having the sun bake on your bare skin. The ones I am currently using are Fruit Of The Loom and I stock up when I find them on sale usually about $6 apiece. If I need to I can wear a short sleeve club or Federation shirt over the T shirt and stay comfortable. 25 years ago some people laughed at my long sleeve shirts in the summer not so much now. Larry Brumley
My 2010 Puma FTD has 9 holders on theport side. Larry Brumley
Dead and buried thank god. Larry Brumley
On a new (less than a year) boat would this be a warranty item? And could you just replace the frame and reuse the skins? Larry Brumley
I have the same issue with my Puma FTD with Yamaha SHO. The tach and trim gauges dont light up so Im running in the dark with most of my dash gauges. Larry Brumley
