We have a 4H kids derby every year here in Raeford, NC. We take it a step further using our club scales to weigh in all fish. The program consists of a bucket (2 gal.) provided to all contestants, to haul the catch up to the “stage” where they weigh in their catch through-out the event. It is very funny watching a 40 pound kid run with a 15 lb. bucket full of water and fish to the scale. All fish are returned to the water by the contestants and a running total weight is used to determine the winners in each age group. We finish up with hot dogs, chips and coca cola products as well as snack cakes. The awards ceremony includes rod-reel combos, tackle packs and trophies or medals for the contestants. PLease promote youth fishing.

Please make sure you click on the link to see that pretty yellow bass cat in the background, behind the National Guard boat with the Golden Knights paratrooper landing on the deck. We now have 118 boaters registered and only 5 Bass Cats, I think last year we had 10 or 12. Hope you can make it, see you there.
Thanks and Merry Christmas to all. Please say a prayer for our troops at home and abroad, and please visit http://warriorsonthewater.com/. God bless all and Happy New Year.

In 15 + years of owning bass boats I have never had a battery issue with on board chargers unless I bought cheap batteries or had a charger fail. Vibration over years will cause a charger failure, and once I had a circuit board go bad (under warranty), most often with new chargers it is because they are not left plugged in and cannot re-coup fast enough on a quick charge which means you go fish with a half charged battery. Most new chargers sample the battery every so many hours and charge as needed…not wait till friday night and plug in for saturday morning the false readings the charger gets cannot overcome this problem. We have all heard about Garages burning down from leaving a charger plugged in but in reality this is less than a 1% chance. Plug em in set it and forget it and fish for 3-4 years from good quality batteries, like optima 31 classs.
IF I WAS A MERC PRO, 500 MILES FROM THE WORLD LIKE THE PROS I WOULD HAVE HAD A REPLCEMENT IN 24 HRS. BUT I BOUGHT A BOAT MOTOR COMBO THROUGH A PRO, SO I FEEL AS IF I DONT EXIST BECAUSE MY PRO MADE THE PROFIT ON THE MOTOR. MERC TOLD ME ” THAT IS WHY WE HAVE A 5 YEAR WARRANTY” … GEE THANKS.
yup. dealer here charges $57 bucks for that.. but at least it is noted in warranty history!
My service order says ” #3 & #5 cyls blown”. I started w/PP but my guys said to run DFI and no problem mixing… Is this correct? What does your shop prefer? I have been told both meet warranty but DFI was better for the 225-250.
dbasket you had me worried , so I went and looked it up..DFI is now the preffered see this link http://www.mercurymarine….cts/maintenance/dfi.php. This is what the local pro-staffers told me.
