for telling me about the bcb owners website. i will do what i can to help anyone in need. steve
hey Judd. how ya been? can yu guys tell what kind of boat im fishing out of in this picture? ill give ya one guess..lol
i really enjoy fishing out of my best friends PUMA. if we fish tournaments we use his boat! mine is just for flying and prop testing. my ETs actually run really well on the puma and cougar but the holeshot is terrible.. as expected. i really wanna get ahold of a puma, or cougar with 300xs and a sportmaster case and put a 30p ET4 on it. bethcya that dude would RUN!!! thanks for the nice words Scott. i really do like the bass cat boats, very top notch boats, and are fun to drive!
hey skiffy. curious question. that year 250 is whats referred to as a series 1 engine. did you ever have the oil pump replaced under the factory recall??? if not, then you may wanna contact customer service at yamaha and see what they say. the series 2 engine now has an improved oiling system. lots of those older engines were popping power heads. its worth a try to see what they will do for ya. and heres another option. contact wayne at hydro-tec. he may have some suggestions for ya. as they are THE YAMAHA GURUs. 417-725-5746 I hope it all works out for ya.
trade in the trophy on a Fury, and be done with it.
14.5 on the m 15 1/8th on the T. big motas and big boats, require bigger diameter props. (normally, not always)
just a suggestion. it would be cheaper to have your current prop “tuned” for your boat. personally id like to see the rpms around 5800, especially this time of year.
SenkoSeis wrote: I bought a brand new one from Jacos Marine. Google them. They have the best prices by far and flat shipping rate. The Fury is the best thing that I have added to my Merc 250XS. Jacos had the prop for 489.00 TYD and comes with a flo-torque hub kit that I cant use? they wont have the best prices for long.
if that tempest is giving you too much bow lift, you may wanna try a 4 blade trophy. or you can raise your engine some, that will help also, but you may end up needing a prop with more pitch. if thats the case your boat will be faster. just my opinion. steve
+1 on the 26p. my best friend ran one on his puma. great holeshot!
buch1565 wrote: Traded in a slightly used 26P Fury to Steve at Steves Custom Props. I believe he is selling for less than $400. It has a few very small scratches, and a layer of white lake gunk which can be buffed off. http://www.stevescustomprops.com Go go go , this one wont last long! thanks… but, prop is GOOONE!!!!!!! and im out of all Furys…..again…. got some more on order.
from what i can remember about the black max engines, the yamaha pro series prop works great on that engine.
if you cant find one give me a holler. i have a new one that mounts to the engine, using the same bolts.all billet aluminum. very nice! kinda pricey though.steve at steves custom props.
if you want the best all around prop for your boat. ie holeshot, handling, etc. go with the Fury!
i have a used 27T1. i need to repair it. just slightly bent on one blade, and need to polish it. once finished i will take 350.00 for it.or as is for 250.00steve903-765-9000also have some 27p Scorpions new for 225.00 (similar to the t1)
