    Yes, the rebuild was done by Mercury mechanics they said a tooth came off a lower splindle part that was not replaced in rebuid process. when this part went out it took rest of lower units new shaft and broke it. I am still in limbo on what the owner of the shop will do for me. I want to know my options and i trust any information Bass Cat wil tell me, part of the family, that means alot to me.     I have a 1998 Jaguar my steering kept spinning in a circle trying to keep the boat straight did not use boat until repaired needed new steering cylinderDo not take a chance its not fun when steering goes been there

    I have owned 98 jaguar for 11 years. In my opinion if you maintain it and keep it clean it will last you a life time. You will love the deck lay out plenty of room for two people move around. I have upgraded the engine to a 2003 250 optimax and run a four blade 26 prop with a blow out ring. I am out in AZ there are not too many Basscats out here when I wipe it down after fishing people come up and think it is a new boat. The fastest i have ran it is 74.3 mph on the gps.
