This probably does not apply to you.I had a boat with a gas odor. I traced it down to a leak in the filler hose where it ran between compartments.Since it was the filler hose it “vented” causing the smell.Tim

If you ran it dry it would not last very long. Does it smell burned up??? Will the prop turn??? Ask for a quote using GLM gearsets. GLM is cheaper and has better warrenty than OEM. I get my gearsets from GLM and bearings from Motion Industries. While it is apart have a new water pump as well. No exceptions. I use life-calk on the big rubber O ring that seals the bearing cage to the housing. The factory stuff will get hard and crack under the loads of high output motors. This may have been what happened to your gearcase. Does anyone know if an XP gearcase will bolt up? Tim

My boss has a stealth charger. It charges the battery while you run. Nice for 36V TM systems. He also has the cable that runs from the tow vehicle to the boat to charge the boat while towing. If you fish a lot, will never have to plug your charger into AC. We fish the Mississippi river. This is where the stealth is at its best. Make a run and get recharged. I am planning on installing the system on my PII.

Automatic dishwasher soap also works great. Super strength it. It cuts grease real good. I use it to degrease engine blocks / parts.

Vanish – It breaks way to easy for my liking. Probably need to fish it different. Soft tip rod w/ soft-sweeping hookset. A buddie of mine is sponsered by Berkley – so I get a lot of line. I wont use the stuff anymore… Tim

Is the “height” distance measured from the bottom of the pad to the top of the prop, or to the bottom of the cavitation plate? I could not get a good read looking at my 97 P2 last night but it looks to me like I have less than 2″ from the pad to the bottom of the cav plate. The boat runs good. A little sluggish out of the hole but that is a 2.5L 150 EFI Merc for you. 23P tropy+ two holes no plugs, opposing holes medium plugs. Top end is good. Ranger buddies swear that I am more than a 150 cause I walk away from them. I did what Phil said. Raised the motor until I felt steering torque. Did not worry about a measurement. You can tell when it hits the sweet spot.

My PII has a three bank charger. Check out the Stealth charger for on-the-run charging of your trolling batteries. You can add it to an existing set up.

Stealth also has the cable option that hooks up to your tow truck. The design engineer / owner of Stealth is a subject matter expert when it comes to batteries. We run them and do not have a problem.

Hey Pat, You live on the lake? Just wanting to know if water is still stained up, and if anyone is doing any good trolling for big whites and stripers. Tim

That sucks! Some pros (like Alton Jones) were pretty vocal about not liking co-anglers. Alton will like you know as soon as you step in his boat that he dont like you there. Im sure there are others. Davy Hite a super great guy to fish with. So how they going to keep them honest? Who wants to be an observer when the weather is bad.

The big banner has been gone for awhile. Probably trying to tap into the pontoon boat market. Cheaper then a 33 ft deep -V Formula. I think the average size on the lake is 33 ft now, but you can go anywhere with a toon. LOZ is a crazy place, but still my favorite place to fish. I did ok on on Strike King white tube and black Larry Nixon buzz bait. I use star-flash skirts. We have a dock/sea-wall out front where I aways catch a couple of bass in 44 ft of water.

I used to stay at Robins back when the Baker family owned it. It was small cabins back then. Dont take your wife dock fishing. She will get bored. You are sitting on a good point. One side drops off into the channel (where the boat ramp is), the other swings to the inside of the cove where you are staying. It is a long point. Just around the corner from you is what used to be known as fishermans cove (Watsons hollow). It is a big long cove. There is a pumphouse back there. The banks across from the docks are good. The area around PB2 is good (released fish). The long point across from the PB2 is good and up the north side of the bank there are some nice coves with buckbrush. I like going to the very back of the Glaize when I take my wife and kids fishing. Get a map to navigate. It turns into river. 1-6 ft of water. Stained. Fish will let you know what they want this time of year. One day spinnerbait, next day dead-sticking plastic. Troll the points with your big mother with a fat rap and you may catch some nice wipers and stripers. They are pole bending machines. Have fun!
