Its actually an older Dual Pro 3-bank (15/15/6 A) that has the charge on the run feature built in. It was built before Dual Pro ran into some legal issues that currently prevents them from packaging the COR in the charger. While it was bought a while back, it was still new in the box. I bought it from a guy in my club that bought it but never got around to installing it.Ive already installed the unit and have the charging circuits hooked up and its working great to charge the batteries… I just need to find that source of 12V to get the COR function working.
BCB – Thanks for the input. I was hoping it would be simpler, but I guess Ill figure out a way to route the wire up to the console.Greg
I dont think that will work. The one (32 gallon) fuel tank on my Cat is under the seats. I have not access to it from the bilge.
Well… Ive taken it out every weekend since I bought it. Thats four times in the past month. And every time its been fogged up so I could not read the LCD display at the lower part of the guage. It HAS been cool here (30s/40s in the morning and up to 60s in the afternoon). I had a 2.5 hour drive home in the rain this past Saturday and while Ive mostly gotten the boat dried off at this point, the guage is still fogged up.Its obviously not waterproof anymore. Liquid has gotten inside. The other large guage has had no fogging up/condensation issues so it is OK.As long as the guage does not have issues with that liquid inside it, this will probably clear up when the weather gets warmer and our rainy season (Northern CA) quits in a few months. I was just thinking that as long as the water is inside I may as well make it easier for air to get in and clear it out. Right now it is basically trapped inside the unit.
With the only other option being to replace the guage, I went ahead and drilled three small holes at the bottom and one small hole at the top of the outer lens. I then aimed a halogen work light at the front of the gauge to heat things up a little. It took about 6 hours but eventually all the liquid “baked” out of the guage. Its been clear ever since but I havent yet taken the boat out in the rain so well see if the “fix” is permanent.
I bought my first boat/BassCat two months ago and while I figured out basic operation of the livewell, this detailed explanation of how the system works and recomendations for different settings under different conditions will remove a lot of the guesswork. Should result in healthier released fish!Greg
When I installed blinker trim a couple of weeks ago, I found that the allen heads holding the cover on were already partially rounded/stripped on the inside from someone prior to me (previous owner?) using the wrong size wrench. I was not able to get two of them out… so I ended up drilling them and using an “easy out” to remove them. When it came time to put the cap back on, I replaced the existing screws with mil-spec allen heads that had more meat/durability. Ill have no problem if Ihave to remove them again.I also needed a steering wheel puller to get the wheel off. Tensioned that sucker up real good and it still didnt come off. I started getting worried with how much force I was applying and starting to wonder what to do next when “BAM!!” the wheel loudly came off the spindle and into my lap. Almost had to clean my shorts out after that… first time Id ever pulled something like that and I wasnt expecting it to come off the way it did.Other than those two hurdles, installation of the blinker trim was simple.
Thanks! Ill try to find it tonight when I get home.

If youre just looking for oppinions, Ill just throw a number out there and say it would be worth at least 15k to me… but I am far from an expert.$15k seems pretty high for a boat of that age… In January I picked up an 06 Pantera Classic w/320 hours on the 200 Optimax for $16.5k. That was a pretty good deal but still…
Yeah, I know I found a pretty good deal. It had a MK Maxum Pro 80 TM and an HDS5 in the console. I did spend some more $$ putting in a Hotfoot, blinker trim, upgraded the cranking battery and put another HDS5 up in the bow. So you could look at it as I paid more when you consider the upgrades I immediately put in cost…Its tough trying to sell something used that is older but in really good shape. Its really hard to find someone who will be willing to pay enough to cover all the $$ you may have put into it to keep it up to date.
Cape Fear wrote: More then likely you dont have a problem at all. I noticed the same thing when I first got my cat. When you come to a quick or hard stop the trailer will move forward on the hitch coupling a couple of inches. What you feel during take off is the trailer sliding back to its normal postion. A more gradual stop or take off you will hardly notice it.Agreed. I noticed the same thing when I got my PC which was my first boat. All I had to do was learn to make more gradual starts and the big CLUNK went away.
Well in CA (I dont know about other states) where trailer brakes are required for this size/weight, if I disabled the brakes and then got in a bad accident where injuries were involved, and my disabling was discovered, my insurance company would not cover me and Id be going to the poor house…
I obviously dont agree that BC did everything the could on this…1. They promised shipment the day I ordered (Tuesday) and they did not do that. In spite of their knowing I needed the part by Friday/Saturday and agreeing ground shipment would be OK. 2. When they didnt ship it, they did not let me know about the delay. It took me checking up on them on Friday for them to be aware theyd screwed up.3. Once they knew theyd messed up, they did nothing to make it right. Not even contribute to pay all or part of the overnight shipping that was necessary to meet their original promise.4. Yes they proposed an alternative, but for me to do that would have required my spending more time AND paying overnight shipping myself to get the part when they had promised it. Then a few minutes later they let me know they DID have the part and would ship it that day.5. After I vented my frustration to them in that last e-mail (pretty mild actually) they stopped communicating with me. Left me totally in the dark.I deal with customers all the time in my business. If my group screws up and does not meet promise dates, or does anything else that causes my customers problems, I do whatever I can to make it right. That way those same customers come back the next time. I didnt have to order this brake caliper from BassCat. Lots of other trailer part vendors out there. Next time…
No Prius…. gas guzzling 400HP Tundra.I dont think its just CA… Youll find yourself in a heap of $$ trouble in any state that requires trailer brakes if you disconnect or disable them and have an accident where people get hurt or killed. And its not just the money…
