thanks for the reply. Guess that means I should always make sure the automatic function is always on so I know if I am taking on water or forget the drain plug!
ThankS BCB now that makes sense to me why its switched. Had that same problem happen to a buddy. I was concerned this past weekend when I fished a tourney all day in the rain and I kept waiting for the bilge to kick in and never did. Also, adding the rubber seals for my compartment latches helped. I finally had dry rod compartments.
my 08 puma did not have the rubber seals on the latches. BCB sent me some and I put them on the latches and now everything is dry. I guess most of the time you did not need these seals but I sure did. Also make sure the latches are tight underneath the lids with some channel locks
it was running a little rough from day one and was going to take it in to check. I agree with Mark, I will be nervouse in the future making a run with this motor. Really frustrating have a 250 motor that cant even put the boat on the trailer.
order some coils with it as you are going to need them!
I agree and have an 08 puma as well. Love the boat but miss the yammie on my old skeeter. I too have had this motor in after 12 hours for a coil and now I think I have another one going bad. Just not impressed with mercury. To much money for having to take it to the shop every few hours.
My 08 puma has the mk 101 36 volt and I love it. I will never go back to a 24 volt system and like Mike said it is easier on the batteries because they do not work as hard. I have four batteries and never notice it. I won a tourney recently fishing in 40 mph winds on the windy side while everyone else got out of the wind because their 24 volt system would not last all day or they could not control their boats.
I have the step on my 08 puma and wish I had the pole. How did you put it on and is there welding involved? Only thing I do not like about my cat is it is diffcult to get off the front to hook up to the trailer.
I had a duel console skeeter and then went to an 08 puma with a single and never regretted it. There is so much more room and the wife only goes out a couple of times a year. Last I checked my tourney partner that I draw does not make the boat payments
I have been going there for ten years and bought the chip last year. You do not know it as well as you think you do! It pays for itself and is cheap protection for your boat and vacation.
My wife buys me a very sharp pair at Michaels used for craft work. She gets them for me so I do not have to turn in my man card
Just checked the charger and the number one battery, cranking, is flashing red and green. My trolling motor works so am I to assume my 6 month old interstate battery is bad?
water is full and I always check that. I will test the voltage. Thanks
bad battery, only one volt. Lesson learned today, Interstates are not that good. Thanks guys
I just put it on and I am glad I did and glad it is done. You need to check out this post below and IM pumatrac for some really good pictures of his trailer. He was a big help to me. I will say it takes two people and it took me three $20 hard metal drill bits to get through the tongue. You must be very careful with the wiring and brake line inside and I do not think it would have worked if I did not have a swing away tongue that allowed us to see inside. One guy needs to drill while the other one holds everything out of the way and I used a crowbar for that. That being said it is really nice to have and very safe. Getting off the front of my puma was the only thing I did not like about my boat but it sure is nice now. I slipped off the front of my old skeeter once and tore up my ribs on the trailer tongue. You need to install this item – trust me!http://bbcboards.zeroforu…read/477546-trailer-stepLast edited by Puma Jim on January 31st, 2010, 2:13 am, edited 1 time in total.
