I just took ownership of my first Basscat and it has the grab pole and I absolutely love it! I have 2 young girls that also like getting in the boat using the pole! It has been a hit and would not get another boat without one!
I had the same need so I took a dremmel tool and just cut out the inside dividers of the organizers. I had some that were made by Coverlay, very similar to the BCB ones. Coverlay no longer makes them and If I had to order more, I would use the BCB ones and do the same.
I purchased an 08 Cougar in August. I thought the location was a little awkward the first time out. After the second time out, I did not even think about it! It works great and I really enjoy being all the way forward. It makes a huge difference and give you tons of fishing room all around you. If you happen to fish with another person, they can easily share the front deck with you and you wont be in each others way! I do know that I wont go back to being towards the middle of boat and trying to cast again! I have also taken notice how low the trolling motor sits when its on the deck, I love that also, its not sticking up 3 feet and blocking the view in front.
Is BCB any closer to getting a dealership going in Northern/Central California area?
I bought a brand new one from Jacos Marine. Google them. They have the best prices by far and flat shipping rate. The Fury is the best thing that I have added to my Merc 250XS. Jacos had the prop for 489.00 TYD and comes with a flo-torque hub kit that I cant use?
I have group 30s in the aluminum tray and they fit no problem!
Mark, I purchased one a few months ago and it works great!!! No more scratching the splash well. I contacted them and they directed me to the nearest boat dealership that sells their product. I highly recommend one! I ordered the 48″ zipper hose and I have a Merc 250 XS. Here is the website. http://www.thmarine.com/product.cfm?PRID=101
I had a 99 S-10 that I used to haul a 18 foot basstracker with a 40 horse. It hauled it fine on flat land. The trailer did not have breaks. Give yourself plenty of room to stop and you should be ok on short trips! I dont recommend hauling long distances simply because you wont have the stopping power and wet surfaces can get really scary! Good luck and drive with extra caution!
My hamby was factory installed approximately 8 3/4″ down from the the bow eye.
I have been using seafoam for my boat for over 8 years and have not had an issue, One set of spark plugs on the 150 optimax in 8 years! On my 250XS, same thing. I have 80 hours on the motor and runs great and never had a problem. Highly reccomend seafoam. Here in California we have had ethanol in our fuel for years!
Thanks for the info, I am picking up an 09 cougar!
I have arranged this with Scott and he is aware that I am coming, thanks for heads up!
Thats my new one and its very clean looking, love the silver!
The touch pad is all computerized and looks way too difficult to do! The only concern I have in the bilge area is that the two pumps are no where near each other and it looks like the wires wont reach to one another to make the switch. So I have a minor dilemma! The bilge area is huge and I have plenty of room to work, though I will have to take the oil tray holder out and then reattach the tray with silicone and screws.
Ward, Thanks for the info! You are right, I am going to run it a few more times and see if there are other minor things that I need to adjust and take it to Mossdale! I will see if BCB has an easier fix or something I am overlooking that might be very simple. I noticed that you have a new boat, congrats on that and I see its silver, so is my new one and the color is so sharp in person and pics dont do justice.
