Hope to get out tomorrow afternoon. Should I start with all PVS plugs out or 2 out with one solid plug?
I raised the motor 1/2″ and gained 100 RPM. Hole shot did not change although it seems closer to blowing out as it breaks over. I monitored water pressure closer today and had 18 psi at wot on the Mercury monitor. Boat handled better with no back end shifting at 50 mph as when the jackplate was set flush. Still no steering torque and plenty of water pressure to go a little higher with the motor. The water temp here in Arkansas was 86 degrees. I filled the livewells, did not change the hole shot but lost a couple mph. 2009 Sabre single console2018 150 hp Pro XS with 7 hours8″ Slidemaster jackplate set 1/2″ above flush23P Fury3/4 tank fuelempty livewellsno passengerno PVS plugs3 second hole shot with slight bow lift and no blow out as it broke overWater pressure 18 psi at wotbest run was 64mph @ 5650 RPMslight chine walk starting at wot but controllable
Thanks oldtimer, I had to configure the devices that were connected. Now everything works as it should.
Midnight Rider, how does the Bravo load the boat on the trailer. I hear a 4 blade will not push the boat while loading like a 3 blade. I run a regular Sabre and tried a Fury 3 in a 23P and found it would not lift the boat as well as a Tempest nor was the holeshot as good. Top end also went to the Tempest while loaded down. I like you and Redngoo am more interested in hole shot and midrange than top speed. I run a light load, do you think the Bravo 1XS would work for a Sabre with a light load?
Thanks Midnight Rider. I have a Bravo 1 XS 25P on the way. Should be here in a couple days.
Thanks oldtimer, I always enjoy reading your post. My throttle does not always stick, has only happened 5 or 6 times in the 2 months I have owned the boat. If it sticks while trying to get on plane, no big deal, just will not get out of the hole. If it sticks while coming off full throttle, I have to force it past the sticking point which represents chopping the throttle which could cause bow hook. I am taking it to the shop for them to replace the cables or the control box whichever is necessary.

My 2018 Pro XS is the last of the 2 strokes
I have the boat at the shop for the throttle sticking at about 3/4 throttle. Once that issue is resolved I will get back to the lake to dial it in. I dont think I was ever getting full throttle therefore my speeds being lower than I would expect. I have tried a 23P Fury, 25 Tempest and the 25P Bravo 1 XS. I really like the way the Bravo lifts the boat and hole shot is amazing.

Will dial it in when I get the boat out of the shop.
I have been considering the same for my regular Sabre. When you consider the 3.4L displacement with the 6000 max rpms of the 175 Pro XS 4 stroke, the torque from the larger displacement should give you an incredible hole shot and the extra 250 rpms would provide better top end as well. In my opinion it would be an incredible combination. There is a new Sabre FTD with the 175 Pro XS 4 stroke at bassboatcentral.com boats for sale page if you want to see what it will look like.
Im with you jignpig compared to the 175 Pro XS 2 stroke. But coming from the 150 Pro XS that has a max RPM of 5750 there will be some gain. As far as the 175 Pro XS 2 stroke compared to the new 4 stroke, the difference will be on the bottom end.
