have you sold the boat I am interested
I live in Maine and I am interested. Email me at btgibson@myfairpoint .net Thanks
you guys are the best
I would verify you are actually at full thottle. Do you have a hot foot? You need to make sure you throttle plate in the intake is fully open when hot foot is fully depressed. I have the same set up (08) and I am all over rev limitor with a 26 tempest. I know the 26 Fury is a little steeper pitch but your rpm should be a bit higher still with the Fury prop. Verify WOT is being reached by physically looking at the throttle plate while hot foot (or regular remote throttle) is being fully depressed.
It isnt smoke…it is probobally steam. I have had 2 Optimax engines. They both make steam at idle when the air temp is cool.
How was your hole shot on both props? I have an 08 Pantera Classic with a 26p Tempest plus and am looking at a 26p Fury or a 27p Tempest like you have tried. I am in to the rev limiter with the 26 tempest…wanted to know which prop to go with Fury or Tempest? My hole shot know is 3-4 seconds (instant) I like that! How was loading on the trailer with these 2 props? Thank you, Bill
I agree with everyone ….you are too high! My Classic likes plates flush to a 1/4 inch high. Have fun the Classic is a fun boat to drive!!
You are actually flush….measurement is taken where both inner and outer plates flaten out more towards the middle of plate. It almost sounds as if you are down a cylinder. I had #4 coil go on my 08 200 opti and I was down 300-400rpm. Unless you have a huge load you should beable to spin a 25 to the limiter fairly easy
All I have to say is wake up. In this world…..”Perception is reality”. Without Linda most of us would of been stuck with L units not working and full of water. Including me!
Ya…thanks, thats why I am searching for a 26 Fury. Was thinking 27 Tempest but I have read that the 26 Fury is the better for all around performance! I only need to lose 100-150 rpm so I think that is what I would accomplish with the Fury being a little steeper pitch. Plus will still be able to keep my awesome hole shot!
Wow thanks guys! I do appreciate it….. My e-mail is ]
Catsrus, What model Cat you getting? Better post pics when u get it!
That will be a sweet, efficient set up from all of read about it!! You must be stoked!
BCB, It has been discussed before here but not really explained how to rectify my problem just that there is one. I thought this site was here to help not criticize. I wanted to know how others handled this problem….seeings from the research here there is a definite problem with the valve stems! I dont feel posting this was a waste of time as you seem to elude to in your post. There are others with this problem or are new to BCB and not familiar with how this site works…….sorry for your inconvenience.
