Ive downloaded the instructions, tryed it several times. All the functions appear to work properly, the on/off cycles appear on the clock screen. It seems to be accepting the inputs but the results dont coincide. I am trying to do this on the trailer and filling the livewells with a hose. Could this way of doing it be the problem? Thanks again.
Is the unit powered directly from the battery or is it tapped into another accessory? You have a voltage drop issue. A similar occurance happenend to me. I direct wired the unit and problem solved.
Thanks for the response. Ill try that and see what happens. Between this board and my dealer, I can see that I didnt make a mistake going with a Bass Cat product.
I certianly appreciate the offers to take this yukky flasher off my hands. Just goes to show how helpfull these Bass Cat owners are! One thing Ill say is that you can get the truth on this board. I havent decided what im going to do yet. I really never was a “flasher” type. There are 2 on my Pantera and if I decide to replace them Ill certianly let you all know. Im sure someone here would “dispose” of them for me. Thanks for your inputs.
Your idea may sound like the eaisest way but do yourself a favor and hard wire it directly to the battery. Too many times Ive seen issues arise later on when you tap into exsisting power circuits. Todays electronics are very complex and extremly sensitive to voltage spikes & drops. Run new pos/neg leads to battery and install an inline fuse. It may take longer but you wont heave to worry later why your electronics are acting crazy.
Not to be sarcastic but there is no such thing as “just a ground”. That ground wire is the most important circuit in the system. I would find out where it attaches to and repair it. Without a proper ground you will have all kind of crazy electrical problems. Dont rely on the trailer ball to complete the ground path.
Thanks for the info. This has got to be one of the most informative owners site there is. Every day it makes me glad I bought a BassCat ! Although its used it looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. Thanks again.
If you do go to Pops Marine you wont be dissappointed. I travel 3 hours to go there probably would travel 6 hours if needed.
The reason that Im guessing a voltage drop in dash is because voltage at pump connector is 12.2 unhooked. I wired in a 12v light (1194, low amp bulb)and it would not even light the bulb. disconnecting the AMP plug by the dash and applying a 12v source runs the pump meaning that circuit to the pump and its ground should be good.
Ill be checking all the hoses shortly. There is no excessive oil in cowl. Is it possible to leak internally? Ill be back out there working on it after lunch.
Can I replace with any automotive fuel hoses or do they need to be the clear lines from Merc. Are the an odd size?
Must be more to it than a leaking hose. Cleaned everything with brake cleaner. Checked all the hoses. Went to fire her up and would not start. Tried to once or twice but that was it. Plugs looked oil fouled. Looks like its off to the Merc tech. When i cleaned all the oil none of it ran through the hub, it all ran out from under the cowl.
Top notch people at Pops! Doesnt seem to matter if you buy new or used you still get great service and treated with respect. Great Merc. techs in the back. They all do BassCat proud. If only The auto industry would follow their lead they wouldnt be in the trouble that their in. Great product, great service, fantastic people, what more could you ask for!
I fish potomac quite a lot. Launch out of mattawoman. Cabin fever has struck so I decided to get the old kitty ready to fish. Shes an old “95 pantera but she looks like it just came off the show room floor.
The round “puck” seems to be completly sealed. There doesnt seem to be a lid. I cant understand why there is a wire going into it. Its more of a cable than a wire. At first I thought it was a gps antenna from the previous owner but realized that it being stuck under the deck made no sense. Im going out to the boat now to take another look.
