Thank you for this information. There is no puck on the outside of the boat. All I can find is a temperature probe in the very rear of the boat (on the outside). Last edited by cjrich on May 4th, 2014, 1:42 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Balzout mount on my 2012 Margay. This mount is bulletproof. Its also worth mentioning that I ordered the mount directly from Balzout. The customer service was excellent. They had a mounting bracket that had the same pattern as the standard 4-hole Humminbird mount that was on the 788 CI that I replaced. I didnt have to drill any new holes, and you know how much any of us appreciate that. Notice that the mount shown on the Cougar (above) is a 3-hole mount, similar to the ones that accompanies many Ram mounts.Last edited by cjrich on September 13th, 2014, 2:29 pm, edited 4 times in total.

Bass Boat Saver every time I pull it out of the water. Takes away the need to wash the boat at home.

My dual console 2012 Margay. I havent experienced water coming through between the port console on any occasion other than when its raining. Center rod box has only gotten water only when I lift the lid after it rains, and the water drips off of the sides of the carpeted lid into the hatch.I did have my two front carpeted hatches completely flood. I am hoping that the latches needed some tightening, and have been somewhat gun-shy to fish in the rain since that time. I had a really nice marine stereo amplifier get completely covered in two inches of water, and of course it fried the amp.Last edited by cjrich on September 13th, 2014, 1:09 pm, edited 4 times in total.

toledobasser,I dare say that it is. its called the Little John. I used to have a Ranger 619DVS (deep V) and actually fell out of the rear of the boat some years ago while answering natures call while in rough water. Since that time I have used the Little John.Additionally, you can also purchase a female adapter that fits onto the top to assist the ladies in answering natures call as well. My wife will frequently ask, “So the adapter is on the boat … right?”http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/search.c … l+ProductsNot a bad investment at that!Last edited by cjrich on September 13th, 2014, 1:22 pm, edited 3 times in total.

Midnight Rider,I ordered the port console prior to taking possession of the boat, so I have not fished it with a single console. I appreciate having the glove box. While I have not had opportunity to go from the front of the boat to the back while landing a fish, I cannot say that it has gotten in the way. I had a dual console on my last boat, and I fish frequently with my wife. She would not be satisfied without the port console. The boat has stayed dry in weather conditions so far, meaning that there has been no spray that the port console may or may not have shielded the passenger from if I had a single console. The boat rides very well and I have no issues with performance either. Plenty of hole shot and power for me.I was extremely disappointed, though, when the two front, carpeted hatches flooded. I would like to tell you that the water got 2 inches deep from simply having latches that needed to be tightened, and I sure hope that was the cause. I need to call the service department at BCB and ask if the rubber gourmets that are sold through the web site can fit over the lip that the hatch cover fits over. As I see it, when the boat is on plane in the rain; whatever water is in the channel will rush toward the back of the boat, and thus the water would then come over the lip and into the hatches. The hatches have no drain, and it took many days of keeping the lids up for them to dry out. I did purchase a new amplifier, but have yet to install it for fear that the hatches will flood once more. There is an issue, however, whereby the contact points where the latch bar on all of the locks is already beginning to wear away and crumble the fiber glass. So it would seem that this is a serious quality control issue to look at concerning future production years of this model. I surely hope that I am not to choose between flooded hatches, or fiberglass latch-bar contact points that will really cruble and wear away the fiberglass should I tighten them up. Either way … I lose.I did construct a post about the fiberglass / contact point issue and look forward to some produuctive feedback. I do have some opinions about having to jimmy-rig numerous issues on a boat that is ostensibly new, based upon very low hours on the water.I bought the boat with only 46 hours on the engine. The boat has lots of leaks within. Those hatches under the seats have a large rubber gourmet around the lip and they flood consistently. If it rains, those compartments flood. The small step-up cooler leaks, as does the live well when not in use. The center locker does stay dry, but when the lid is lifted water from the carpeted lid will pour into the hatch.I do appreciate all of the advice that is provided on this discussion board about how to go about investigating and fixing various leaks. However — many of those boats with internal leaks are from the 80s. 90s, or early 2000s.Here are the type of photos you were looking for.CraigYes, it is the Village Inn in Guntersville. Hello psj706,Perko latches.I contacted the BCB Service Dept. after my hatches flooded. They suggested tightening the cam bar. Might that aggravate the problem. ??????????How does compression come into play when the cam bar is not touching the glass?CraigLast edited by cjrich on September 15th, 2014, 12:24 am, edited 4 times in total.

The whole scandal broke just a few days prior to my going on a Guntersville trip in May. Everyone up there was talking about it. From what I understand one of those guys operated a successful business for many years, something to do with selling repossessed boats. The person I overheard at the Outlaw Steak House (best ground steak burger in the world) was saying that the guy went around bragging all the time about how he was winning numerous tournaments. I doubt that was the first time he had tried his shenanigans. You gotta wonder what makes someone like that tick. How small that guy must have felt to be pulling a stunt like that for the attention. I imagine now he feels even smaller. Those guys definitely deserved what they got.Last edited by cjrich on September 17th, 2014, 10:03 pm, edited 1 time in total.

I use buzz baits a lot. For me they are a great search bait. I can fan cast an area very quickly. Once you know they are there, you can then throw other baits as well, if you wish. As has already been said here, that trailer hook will work to convert those short-strikes. For hand-to-hand combat in deep cover or heavy brush, when working shorter, precise casts — the trailer hook is a deal killer.I will take some advice from sunrisepoint and turn my trailer hook down. I have not tried that. Thanks!Last edited by cjrich on October 6th, 2014, 12:57 am, edited 2 times in total.
