I just verified that pins 1&2 have 12 vdc at the antenna, so it looks to be the culprit. I just bought a new 3000 on ebay, and the 127-05 adapter cable. My master power switch on the lower side panel ended up being the power on/off for the GPS. My worry now is the adapter cable is female both ends (127-05 LOWRANCE NAC-FRD2FBL) The old LGC 2000 has female, and the extension cable has male at the antenna end. That means the red connector on the 3000 will have to be male. Everything I read said the 127-05 adapts red mnea 2000 devices to a blue network. Wont know till I get it, but well see.

Appreciate the input – will install new antenna (3000 replacing old 2000) – hopefully I bought the correct red to blue network adapter – then Ill get a good GPS speed before I start tweaking. My first two trips out I was just fishing and riding, hadnt even found the GPS speed reading yet. Probably playing with the map and sonar screens. Third trip out I got the GPS not responding alarm, same trip I was ready to try WOT. Will post again as I need advice.

Thats interesting because my 06 Puma Wide has a 42 gal main and 2 10 gal either side. But my left/right selector draws from the main or both 10s together. Maybe the previous owner had them plumbed that way. Good though because Im always balanced as far as fuel.

LUVTOFISH – I connected the new 3000 antenna and still get the same message – I called our local marine dealer and he said most times when going from a 2000 to a 3000 youll need to upgrade to the newest software version (I have a LMS 332C) – Said he had one last week he had to do it to – I checked my menu and I do have an older version that the current (previous one owner of my 06 Puma never upgraded), so I guess thats my next step – here is a link to the Lowrance upgrade page if you end up needing it – although my laptop is down right now, looks like Ill be borrowing someones – http://www.lowrance.com/e…roduct-Software-Updates/

Bought a 4gb SD card and my Windows Vista had compatability problems but it appeared the software downloaded OK. But my unit wouldnt see the SD card and didnt take the upgrade. So I checked the card in my wifes camera and it was and older 1GB card. So I tried the download on it and Bingo! – it took it. Now Im in business – all I have to do it remove the old antenna and mount the 3000 in its place. (I was plugging the 3000 with adapter cable into the tee under the dash, where the 2000 extension cable plugs in ).

Mine is a Delmar 180SC from Bass Pro – medium size and fits well – has an extra long elastic cord on handle that I let stick out an inch or so when I close the lid so its a quick grab when that monster bite comes –

Its a boat/trailer 3/4 prong connection box storage thingy. Had one of these on a utility trailer I bought. Never used it. Not sure of its intended use. The top cover is removed 1/4 to 1/2 turn ccw and stored inside is the plug. I guess if I had a long enough tail on my tow vehicle wire harness, I could plug them together, put them inside the housing, and tighten the lid (I believe the side has a small opening that wiring could pass through. Otherwise, I guess its a place to store a spare plug???? Had my utility trailer 6 yrs. and its still sitting there, mounted on the tongue.

Your right – I believe 6200 or 6400 is top end. I just noticed the stop bolt today on the hotfoot. Never thought to look at that. I guess only way to tell is back it down and see if I get more? The yellow thing was the scale used for the first time in my Cat to weigh a worthy fish. (And yes, I admit, my wife caught it – but I netted it if that counts – and gave her the frog to tie one minute before it hit)

For those who arent crazy about yellow, well call it a shade of chartreuse. Now every fisherman/woman likes chartreuse.

Yea, I loosened the stop bolt and lowered it a few threads, and the foot stopped where it was set previously. I was hoping Id find that that was keeping me from getting all the rpms. Now on to the next step. Im willing to put a bigger manual jp on and another prop if I need to. If I can get to the upper 70s with no chine Id be happy, as Im sure a lot of people would…. . Now the stable ride is at 68 gps. Its a great ride from the Puma and smooth performance from the Verado, but it should have a lot more top end.
