Im so sorry for your loss!. I cant imagine what you are going through. I have 3 sons who are my world. I too have a home near Mountain Home in the Lead Hill area and recently bought a 15 Puma FTD. The quality of the these boats is amazing. Above that though is the service the people give when you need something. You wont regret your choice no matter the model you choose. When you get up here contact me and I will show you what little I know about fishing Bull Shoals.Brinson

I drove the boat, while it ran very well I felt it was pretty slow to plane.

Love this combo, almost went with this on my new Lynx on order but ended up going with a blueberry cap and white hull.

I went with the Verado Pro 250. I just think it is a better fit for this boat. The 250 Sho would push this boat well also.

I’m talking about the box next to the passenger seat?

I moved mine back. It was a long reach for me and I’m 6’2″. Much more comfortable for me now. Although, I lean against the butt seat more now due to back issues.

We deal with a couple of failed hydraulic plates a week and manual plates don’t fail. Unless your in flat (shallow) water then the hole shot is not that much of an issue vs. the failure potential. All boats can improve their performance with a hydraulic plate, usually on the hole shot by raising it on hole shot then lowering it to run.

I have a Lynx with a Atlas hydraulic jackplate. I use each and every time to get up on plane. It helps tremendously with holeshot .

What motor and prop are you running?  The Lynx behaves a little different from some other boats, how it is loaded is critical. Too much weight in the front will affect how quickly it planes off. If you are running a new Merc 4 stroke or Verado, these motors perform well at higher rpms and a smaller prop such as the Fury 3 24p will work well. My boat runs fairly flat until it gets up on the pad at around 50 mph or so. After that is when it really begins to perform. If you have a hydraulic jackplate raise the motor on take off until it vents and once it breaks over drop the jackplate to make the prop grab. Set the jackplate height watching the water pressure. Basscats do not need a lot of trim to run.

Gerald, I am soon to be 65 yrs. old and went from a Puma to a Lynx due to balance issues among other reasons. I have no regrets at all. The Lynx is huge up front and I like the storage very much. The room up front is just what I needed. The Lynx is not as nimble as the Puma of course due to it’s size but still handles great to me. It’s very stable, fast and extremely well built. If I ever purchase another boat it will be a Lynx.

I have a Lynx with a Verado and 6 inch jackplate. Someone else will be along shortly to verify but if I’m not mistaken, a 8″ jackplate would void your transom warranty. I’m not sure what you would gain with a 8″ plate, mine does everything I need.

I use a Honda EU 2000 to charge my Lynx which has 4 batteries. I have use a 1000 watt before and it did charge it but it was a strain for it.
