There is a screw that attaches the cable to the valve. It holds the casing in place while the cable slides. I am thinking that you need to replace the whole valve. Being the age it is, and also where it is located, do yourself a favor and replace it. The rubber flappers, spring holders and o-rings are several years old and probably are tired from age.

I was there in Patroon Creek allweek also. I think I remember seeing you. I was in a Gold/White Puma. I caught a boat load on Watermellon/Red Baby Brush Hogs.

Bottom line is there is no “best boat ” made. It is all in the eyes of the beholder. I love my Puma. When I owned other brands, I loved them too. I dont have to justify to anyone why my boat is the “one” Do yourself a favor and go look and compare. If you buy a Cat, great if not, then that is your decision. In addition to building great looking and performing boats, BassCat is comitted to customer. If that is for you welcome to the family. If not, enjoy your purchase. If we all owned Cats, it would be pretty boring.

Yes Chris that was us. I was in the back with my buddy on the troll motor when we saw you. Even though we managed to catch a few 5 lb ers, we did manage to witness the guy catch the 9.75. He weighed it on my scales at 9-13 (Rapala Hand Held) and Holly Park weighed officially at 9.75. It was funny, when he stuck the fish, he hollered to his partner, “get the net”. His partner casually stood up and started taking off his jacket. I laughed and told my two buddies that he must going to be catching the fish in his jacket. Anyhow, they were both leaned down on the opposite side of the boat when, the sow jumped on our side. We actually saw the fish before they did. It was a great show.

I have read on this site to cut up paper trash bags and place them in your road boxes. Then close the lids and soak them with a water hose. You can find the leak or leaks by the water on the bags.

What a great problem to have. Apparantly BCB has not got the memo as of yet. We are in the middle of a recession dangit. I cant wait for my check that Obama is going to send me. But I do wonder how much it is going to cost me in the long run.

Just curious, could you not tie off to the eyes on the back of your transom? Seems like that would be much stronger and safer. I would think you could pull an anchor tie out but not the transom ties.
