Thank you for the reply less than 10 hours from what I am told on a new powerhead. I have been looking at so many differnet boats lately I could be confusing it with another one. I know it has a 200 mariner on it.
Thanks for the replies guys. I will keep everyone posted as to what happens. If I dont buy it I am sure that you will see it on here for sale. Dan thank you for the info, that is exactly what I was looking for. Sharp boat as well I like the color combo
Thank you Chris and Stan Stan I am finally going to be buying Mikes boat at the end of the season
I looked at it last night and tried taking it off, but couldnt figure out how it comes apart without breaking it. II found the box under the dash and removed it, and attempted to get the nut and washer off the bolt in the back but it just kept spinning. Any help would be appreciated in removal. Thanks again guys
Yes we are talking the Margay with a 150 Pro XS, 24 fury with no plugs, my issues are getting better the lower I go on the plate. I was not getting the bow lift needed to keep the boat on plane at slower speeds and in corners, it would plow water (due to the weight that I carrying in the bow).Last edited by Mike Adams on May 3rd, 2013, 3:59 am, edited 2 times in total.
Another Margay owner here. Congratulations on the new boat and ask away with any questions. I may have missed it, but what outboard?
Ill check it out when I get a chance tonight.
1 I dont want the extra maintenance 2 Im already towing with the smallest suv/vehicle that Ill ever tow with (2013 explorer) 3 90% sure my state does not require them for single axle trailers tagged at my weight 4 less risk of something breaking while towing 5 less spare parts to carry while towing to be able to fix on the road.
Ill probably leave them on, just wondering what the feasibility and expense would be.
After spending all evening yesterday I cant find where they even make the land n sea hot foot anymore, I cant find where any dual action hot foot is made
I mounted mine under the console, I dont want to have to open compartments if something is burning. I want it in easy reach, I also dont have a hot foot to deal with.
They are surge brakes as your car slows, it compresses and actuator built into the trailer tongue casing the hydraulic brakes to active. I have a Margay 150xs and have towed with a 2013 Explorer front wheel drive, they are definitely worth having. I never encountered any issues at any ramps I went to, I just took it slow and easy. I used the emergency brake and feathered the throttle when pulling the boat out.I think the package weight on my margay is 3600-3800# but I also have the 4″ frame, Im not sure how much that adds to the total package weight.
Prayers sent, hes one of the good ones
On mine too
TGfish, you might be hard pressed getting a reply in the next couple days due to the starting of the dealer meeting. They will reply as soon as they get a chance though.
