Thanks BCB, Ill look into it tonight. I have been doing A LOT of reading on this board. I have to find something to do while my engine is being rebuilt! Long story short blow up the #3 Cylinder broken ring. However, I am the PROUD owner of a 96 PII Not very many Cats in WV! Steve
Thanks BCB Hopefully I can get this all taken care of and get back to fishing! Thanks for your help…. Steve
Gary, Im closing in on finishing my 96 PII up. I took on that same project you are looking at. I was going to replace all wiring, but you can test it out with a voltmeter and that will tell you if the wire is good or not. Most of mine was pumps/switch problems. Most all my wire tested out good! All Im waiting on now is my new dash, and to replace a few two way switches. I will stay when you start into this project be patient. And it helps if you have some help when you go testing out wires. let me know if you have any questions I can try to help. Good luck, Steve
I C That is a slick install! I would still like to look around and perhaps find a good portable light if anyone knows of one. Im just kicking around ideas of how I want to set things up. Thanks, Steve
#NAME?
Sorry Loanshark I thought I read that your poles were coming out tangled, I must have read that somewhere else. Either way my poles come out tangled… Steve
I just had my 200 rebuilt last summer. I was told to double the oil (add oil to your gas as well as your engine mixing it). I had to idle for 3o minutes to 1 hour. Than idle with engine in gear for 30 minutes to an hour. Than Get boat on plan and run LOW rpms (just enough to stay on plan) for 30 minutes and than slowly start raising rmps. DO NOT open the boat up (wot) If I recall dont go past 3/4 throttle. I cant call my exact rmp lets say 3000 (for barely on plan) than climb slowly to 3300 rpm than hold it there for 20 minutes or so than climb to 3600 rpm for 20minutes than back off to 3000rpm for 20 minutes than climb back up to 3600rpm get it steady at 3600 than climb to 3900 rpm than hold for 20 minutes you want to continue until you get 3/4 throttle. Just keep working your rpm up and down. You will want to do this process for a full tank of gas (I think I did it through two full tanks of fuel). Every once and a while stop and shut down the engine allow it to cool down than do it all again. I was told you what to move the rpms up and down so you dont form rings in the cylinder. This is what I was told, and my engine is running fast and strong! Im sure BCB or others may have a better way of handling this situation. This is what I was told by my machine. I am NO expert by NO means, There are A LOT of other folks on this board that no more about this than I will ever know! But that is my 2 cents Steve
okay, Thanks Kent! Thanks, Steve
No I havent. I have fished the Tri-cities (Morgantown, Fairmont, Clarksburg) club. That was 3-4 years ago. Since than I have moved from that area. To the South-eastern part of the state. I havent Tounry fished for a few years due to work and all that. But planing to get back into it this spring/summer. We do most of our fishing in Va. (Lake MooMaw). There are a few little lakes (if that is what you want to call them I call them big ponds) TM only type deals. Well go to Stonewall Jackson Lake and pleasure fish for a few days. I do go to TN and fish as well (mostly take my folks out and let them fish). I got me some deck lights ordered yesterday from Bluewater LED. Ill have to post some pictures once I get them installed! This night fishing stuff is new to me, I have only fished a few time at night (never really did any good). This club once the weather warms up will have several night tournys (well every Friday night). So thought I should go ahead and get some lights. So Im open for any Night fishing tips if anyone has any?!?!?! Thanks, Steve
Shot you an email…… Steve
Mark I havent bought a prop off ebay but I have purchased several items off there everything from tracking collars to cables for my electronics on the boat. I have never had any trouble. I will say I look over there feedback (the sellers) that other customers leave, as well as look to see how much or how often they buy/sell items on ebay. I hate to say it but you do have to be careful. But I personally havent had any problems. Steve
Thank you BCB!!! Thanks, Steve
Brian – Hang in there Im sure some of the folks will chime in. I would like to know myself! Here in WV my boat has to be in the garage from October/November to April (depending on weather We had snow all day on Wednesday 4-23-09 couldnt believe it!). When taking it out for the first time of spring I do hook a water line to it and flush out everything. Than put ear muffs of it and run it a little in the driveway (being out in the country I dont have to worry about neighbors, Just dogs, cows, horses I dont think they mind though). Steve
Shows how much I pay attention, I didnt know Jeremy Starks was in a Cougar! Thats great! I have to pull for the WV Boy…..Will Jeremy be at the OI? Steve
I was having trouble keeping my tag on the trailer. (Dont know if its legal or not. I would say not, but I know the tag is not going to get ripped off) On the back step of the trailer I drilled two holes so I can bolt my tag on the trailer on the back step. I have never had any trouble with law enforcement, I guess they are to busy looking at how nice the boat looks! ….. I was not aware of the red reflector requirement, I was planing on upgrading to the leds, that is nice to know! Thanks… Steve
