Nope I have one and it is great if your boat is indoors but not for weather protection. Fairly thick and bulky. Go to walmart buy one of thier cheap boat covers, work great for the driveway but dont tow with them about $40.00
great idea! Id like basscats answer on that one too!!Irv
Thanks for all the kind responses I did not know if additives absob some water so now I will try it. Also good to know about the water in the filter alarm.Irv
Easy I have done this for all my tin boats (3) just remove the screw just under the head and turn it 180 degrees put the screw back in
i have the dust cover and that is what it is a dust cover not a towing or rain cover very soft ndust proof not rain or wind proof great foe keeping the boat dust free in a garage.
As usual basscat has a complete and honest answer. I have been a BCB owner and fan since 1987 and always happy with my choice. I just wanted to hear the true story behind the headline. Thanks BCB Irv
doing it for 20 years never had a problem
Here is my 2 cents. First i think that when you are going down the ramp you are unloading weight off the front wheels when they slide the abs system unloads pressure from the system giving you problems. But I do have a good solution when I have similar problems I apply the emergency brake enough to help in braking which also means you arent stomping the brakes as hard and presto a controlled drive in reverse down the ramp. Dont engage the emergency fully just enough to make this work and it will. Going up take the brake off. irv
the vexilar i believe was attached from basscat the material seems to be a black type of epoxy can I mount it inthe existing residue pocket or do I need to chip it out my pinpoint transducer is still tirght ther and attached in the same area. Is ther a good way to realease that ducer or should I just whack it witj a big hammer?
Had a 1987 caracal with a 150 Gt by Johnson. 17″2″ boat, a drivers boat!!! ran a solid 70 with me and my tackle and a load of fuel. loved that boat only shortcoming was a nose that was low to the water, so with me 280# larger waves came over the nose. I ran an early worked 26 raker that was very fast and my every day prop was a 4 blade 26 predator ( great prop). I f your engine runs strong I think they liked the rpm so I would say a 24 or 26 trophy would be a good place to start . Dont buy the prop without testing it first! Most prop shops will let you drive and decide as long as you dont ding them up. Irv
I have a 225 optimax and would not reccomend under 1000 cca. It starts fine with lower ccas but at least on mine with lower cca brand new batteries my 522 lowrance would turn off every time i started the motor. When i went to a 1000 cca duralast that problem stopped. Battery was about 90 dollars with tax . also the engine seems to spin faster on the starter than before. irv
trim the nose down to let the v do the work unless the waves are big enough to come over the nose, bass cats are much more trim sensitive compared to rangers. I agrre that you are probably also going faster. There is a learning curve they are not a point and shoot boat. like good sports cars they reward the driver with supperior skills.
I had the same issue for my cougar. What I did was make an oak wood square base about 3 x 7 x 3/4 inches ogeed th top edges, finised witha polyurethane clear coat, 3 coats, screwed to the boat using the old holes and then screwed the RAM to the oak with 3/4″ stainless panhead sheet metal screws. Looks really custom and no new holes Irv
I would try the predators but I think you need a 23 or 24″ prop. Try for about 5700 top rpm Irv
According to thier web site it needs 20 1/4″ gunnel depth
