Congratulations! (again) To all employees of BassCat from the bottom to the top! Its a real pleasure dealing with all of you and owning a BassCat boat!Derrick
Welcome aboard Mike!
Not that anyone here minds Im sure, but this kinda sounds familiar! Congratulations to all the folks at Basscat!! Derrick
topwater,
I too have a backlight that does not work and I called southwest to see what they would do for me and they wanted $200 just to look at it!! But said it would be no problem to fix…??? The guy told me a flashlight would be a lot cheaper!
Okay…thanks. Ill give that a look tonight.
No complaints with mine. They are actually a lot of boat for the money! Lots “extras” that were standard for the P3. As for ending production, simply a marketing factor to make room for the new and improved P4 I would guess, but not b/c of it being an inferior boat. Good luck on your decision!!
I could be wrong on this but if I rememeber correctly the formula for a Largemouth is : Lenght x Length x Girth. I think you have to move the decimal over about three places too. Never knew one for Smallmouth but the one I gave you for Largemouth is pretty darn accurate best I remember. Lenght = tip of nose to tip of tail Girth = widest part of belly. Hope this is right and can be of use!
As far as dependable, they are that. I personally like the 3.0 much better than the 2.5, because of the torge the 3.0 has. They are not as good on fuel as the Optis but very dependable. I have a 3.0 EFI 05 model and it performs very well. Not one bit of trouble so far. Just cant afford to hot rod all over the lake, but really isnt that bad at moderate speeds. Ive yet to hear anybody that really dislikes the EFI except for maybe the fuel usage. But, if youve never had an Opti I guess you wouldnt know the difference! I do like mine though! If you like the boat, I wouldnt worry about the motor. Hope this might help some.
You can call Lowrance and exchange the skimmer for a puck style transducer…thats what I did and put it in the sump. You dont have to worry about it not working because of stumps, etc. hitting it. ( not to mention puttin holes in a perfectly good boat) Good luck in whatever you decide.
Give Don at Harps Market a call. Best steaks around! Black Angus ribeyes are great! Let him know so he can set some back! 870-425-6556Last edited by reelfast on March 17th, 2008, 9:17 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Congrats Scott!!! Hope everybody is doing fine! Derrick
I may be wrong here but I believe you have to set up to read percentages. I know that is what I had to do on my 06 Puma. Hope this helps??
Well, all I have are the two guages, speedo and tach. I could always set the Gallons for the tank underneath the seat but could never get a reading on the rear tanks until I switched to percentages. Then I could see how much I had in front and rear by switching tanks on dash. I dont remember actually reading anything on this (and Im not at my boat or manual) but, it did come up on the guage. It actually shows a little less than actual to keep you from running out.
Ive used Brasso Metal Polish and it works great for me. Just a thought.
Sounds like the VRO pump to me too. I relaced it with a fuel pump and just mixed my oil…no more problems. (91 Faststrike) I fished a lot during cold months and the oil pump is just a diaphram on those motors, I just didnt want to take the chance that it might fail trying to pump that thicker, cold oil. The fuel pump is a lot cheaper too. Or at least at that time it was. Good luck!
