In general the biggest waves have been at Lake Amistad or Sam Rayburn 4 to 5 footers. Anything bigger I need to get to the house. Thanx
What about the gas tank under the seats vs. the rear of the boat? How exactly are the gas tanks located on the Puma and the Cougar FTD and how does it effect lift of the respective boats? And the pros and cons of hydraulic jack plates on these boats?
Will the 82Lb 45″ shaft be enough thrust and shaft length on the Cougar FTD with the rear fuel tank. I thought but dont know for sure that the 82Lb 45″ shaft would be fine on the Puma since it sits flatter. What r the advantages of the 36 volt trolling motors other than thrust?
Thanx for the replies the info is helping me make the right decisions before i buy
Thanx for the input
Sorry should of put and weight contradictions. What is exactly the hull weight of the Puma and the Cougar FTD, I have been to the BCB site but on another site someone else was arguing the hull weight of some of the top brands of boats. Thanx
Why hasnt MG come up with something like the “lift assist” on the MK
Sorry Chuck B, Actually looking for an 08 Puma DC, have to have dual console for my wife. Prefer 36V MK but that wont be my buying decision, low hours would be great, electronics and jack plate will be a consideration.
The elevations I fish most will be around 1000 sometimes a little higher some lower but mostly from Lubbock, Tx to Houston, Tx. What r the dimensions of that 27T1 and 3 or 4 blades.
If Yamaha suggests the T series on most bass boat applications with 250s who makes the decision which prop to run, the dealer or BCB? Why would the better quality prop not be put on 50,000$ rig. Getting more and more confused on which prop. Any web sites to help me with this confusion.
The new 09 Puma Southco Locks will fit right where the Perko Locks were with no problems. I just bought an 08 Puma with 7 Hrs on it and broke a latch first thing. BCB wont replace these Perko Chrome plated latches under warranty with the stainless Southcos.
Thanks
Just purchased an 08 Puma felt the same way in the showroom the TM was way up front (thought I might not be able to stay in the boat) but after using it in rough water the fishability was awesome and comfortable.
The 25T is a 151/8 diameter prop , has a little more rake for more bow lift and thicker blades. The 25M is 141/4 diameter and is going to flex more. I went to the 25T on a Yamaha VZ 250 on an 08 Puma. If there was more bow lift it was very little, the blades are thicker. Hope this helps.
I would of thought the RPMs would be a little higher with the 25 pitch but hole shot and control seemed great. I could keep the bow high without planing out and still going slow. Water pressure stayed in the upper 20s Water temp was 55
