My 2008 Puma came with both the e-ladder and the regular boarding ladder. I sure do not need them both and will sell the e-ladder if you are interested. If you are interested, let me know. ][email protected] The e-ladder has not been a problem at all.

Steve, I used one of the dust covers on my new Puma until my Aurora arrived. The one I used was far from waterproof though and all of the boats outside at the dealer that had them were very wet inside. You can tow with one but they will not stand up to nearly as many trips as a Aurora or a Deans. As Mike stated, they are great for indoors and have a soft lining. I am not sure of the cost of these dust covers or who makes them for BCB but I am sure they can help you with this. Once you get a cost, you will have to make a value judgement on a dust cover vs. a real cover. By the way, I am only about an hour from Fork and I can verify that it can get duaty at times. If I can help with you r trip, let me know!

02 JagCat, Yes it can be done. I had to do this once when a tire blew out and there was nowhere to safely stop and change it. Mine was a rear tire and it carried more weight than the front one. Even though the springs did indeed pivot, I was able to limp along slowly for about 15 miles. Not recommended but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

I have been using them since last spring with good results. My most productive method is weightless with a 5/0 screw lock hook. Just swim them very slowly and pause them every now and then. They work well Texas and Carolina rigged as well. E-mail me if you need more details ][email protected]

Pitcher, I had a Hacker on my Jaguar and it did the same thing. My Jag had a Merc 250 XB and would run in the low 80s. At these speeds, the trolling motor was spinning so fast that it would pull the bow of the boat hard to the right. I had to limit my speed to 55 mph to avoid severe arm cramping! I finally had to trade the Jag in on my 2008 Puma to lower the speed to an acceptable level. April Fools (well almost). You shold not have any problems with the prop spinning. Be careful though, the prop can contact the deck if the trolling motor bounces a lot. I cured this by strapping the trolling motor shaft to the mount. Be careful as well, it is possible to catch the prop between the mount and the boat when you are stowing it. This is a sure way to break one of the blades.

    The alcohol is the ticket.

I have had both and know quite a few friends who have both brands as well. Both brands have strengths and weakness. My 2001 Jaguar had a MotorGuide but this was prior to the Digital units they have now. I had quite a few problems with those units. I went with Motorguide on my new Puma. I like the digital features of the newer MotorGuides and really like the MotorGuide mount (with the spring breakaway feature) over the Minn Kota. The new Motorguides have a 3 year warranty. Besides the unit on my boat, I have a new spare that I keep in the truck. Having said all this, I have to be honest and tell you that one of the new motors had a defective armature from the factory. Of course they replaced it under warranty but still, I was disappointed to see this on a new un-used motor. You may want to check with your local trolling motor shop and see what their thoughts are and try both brands before you buy if you can. Good Luck!

Welcome to the family! I traded my 2001 Jaguar for a 2008 Puma last fall. The Jag had a Merc 250XB and the Puma has a 250 HPDI Yahama on a hydraulic jack plate. The difference in speed, ride and handling between these two boats is night and day. The Jag was very, very fast (80.4 best GPS) and took some amount of seat time and attention to drive fast it fast. I thought the ride was good untill I rode in the new Puma. The Puma is not as fast (low 70s fully loaded) but the ride is by far the best of any boat I have ever be in. I have not had any chine walk. There is quite a bit of steering torque at the top end though. It is very easy to drive. I fished the Texas BASS Federation Nation State Championship a few weeks ago. All of my non-boaters were very impressed with the Puma in every aspect, especially the ride. My understanding is that the Merc 250XS is faster that the Yamaha so there may be a little difference in the handling but I am sure that you will be able to get it tuned it pretty quick.

Sorry for the delayed response. I have been out of state working. My Puma has a hydraulic jack and I am running a 27 pitch Yamaha prop. I have tried a 26 pitch Merc Tempest but the Yamaha works much better for me. Feel free to contact me directly if there is anything else I can do to assist. Hey Catman, I added a Bass Cat web type rod strap (for the co-angler) to my Puma. This was very east to do. It is located on the storage compartment lid, as close as possible to the corner and in-line with the rod ramp. I drilled pilot holes in the lid and secured it with stainless steel screws with the little cups under the screw heads. Works great!

In my experience, removing the vents increases prop ventilation when a boat brakes over onto plane. Try lowering the engine a little. Scott

I just switched from an M series to a T on my 08 Puma. There is a day and night difference between he two on my boat. The T1 is way better in every way. Good luck! Scott Callaway

Thanks Phill. It is not a very good looking item to put on a pretty boat like a Bass Cat.
