Good point Phil! Actually, that same club tourney, I fished in the back of a friends boat. We were cruising about 60 mph in his 21 ft Stratos with a 225 Rude. All of sudden we were doing a “S” pattern in a way, too fast for my liking. I noticed him jerking the steering wheel back and forth. First thing I thought was… come on, lets go just go to this point we talked about 3 miles away. He stopped the boat fast and yelled WTH!! (or something else) I looked back and seen that his jam nut came loose on the steering in front of the motor. Luckily he had tools in his boat and I tightened it up with a big crescent wrench in less than a minute. Got to the fishing point, and then noticed a 6 pt buck swimming across the lake. He had to swim at least a mile to get across to that point. He musta smelled some fish there too?
And here I thought …that fisting for catfish was out there.
April would be great here. Work conference in Dallas week before. Aviation Bass Tourney at TB that weekend. Then over to Arkansas for 3 days then the OI. April! April! April
i caught my limit but also caught all those same “dinks” last saturday at fayette county, but on a watermelon red flake lizard.
only problem is i have to leave for a work trip monday. (cat brought along) i will also be fishing two tournies before i get back home to see the fury 25p. i leave a week later to be with mom for christmas (and to do some walleye ice fishing in northern wisconsin) will let you know asap.
Friday – Fayette County Saturday – Fayette County Hope to get that “big one” that went around that stump and broke off 2 weekends earlier. Cold weather – Dont forget to warm up your motor before nailing it in the morning.
I just purchased a 25P Fury last week for my 06 P4/200 Opti, but no time to put it on yet and test it. I currently have a 26P Temp. What is your current jackplate height on your P4?
Well, in the garage, I just torqued the 25P Fury to 55 ft lbs on the P4. Came inside to look at the weather on line. Looks like a wind advisory on the lake. 17 mph now, 33 mph in a few hours…. I think I will wait to let the P4 “eat” another day. Last edited by brewcat on December 9th, 2008, 11:50 pm, edited 1 time in total.
I think I will save the Fury performance checkout in those 5-6 footers, till the day I need to get back to the ramp with a limit.
Took the P4 and camped out at Fayette County. Fished Dec 5 and 6. Double limited both days. Best 5 on the 5th was 23 lbs. Best toad was a 7.5. Best 5 on the 6th was 16 lbs. Maybe 5 or 6 boats on the lake the 5th, cloudy cool day. Wind was just right. Next day started cool in the AM, then turned to bluebird skies and the layers of clothes started coming off as the day went on. By 2 pm, I could have been fishing with shorts, t shirt, and flip flops and my Jimmy H sunglasses. Maybe 50+ boats on the 2600 acre lake the 6th? Nothing better than fishing on a weekday. Bob – I got your message. Will give you a call tonight.
