Ive been seeing alot of guys getting new boats (various brands) with too large of a pitched prop. Resulting in lower rpms at wot. As for the sho/caracal I cant comment. Mines a 16 with a 225 pro xs. 33/10 tanks. Single power pole and 36v trolling motor. Mine came with a 25p fury 3 blade. The best I ran it was 73@5400 rpm. Ended up swapping to a 24p fury 4 blade. Now pushing 70@ 5750 rpm. Mean while I have several friends that went with a 25p-4 blade and are running very similar rpm, and a few mph more. Both of their boats do not have the atlas jp. Not sure if it causes some drag? I recently had a post on the bass cat owners face book page. Jim Tate is running a caracal/sho. And hes running a old school temptest 25p, said hes pushing 76.9 around 5800 rpm. Manual jp.Should be easy to sell your prop and find another on here or on bbc boards.
Look into a 24p 4 blade, or a 25p 4 blade fury. The boat will run totally different and have the lower speed lift your looking for and should still do 70-71 with the 24, and 72-74 with the 25. If your running poles, 36v and a bigger load I would get the 24. Not sure if this will make sense, but the amount of the boat thats out of the water say 55 mph, with the 3 blade… Youll have the same amount out of the water at about 45 with the 4 blade.
Check all your latches to make sure they are snugged up, you should not be able to spin them at all. I had a few loose ones. Pour water into your front cup holder at the bow, and look to see if water enters your center rod locker, some times the drain tube comes off and or becomes misrouted. And keep your bilge dry, on take offs its a good practice to click the bilge on for a second or two, and leave it on auto. The water can rock back and forth in the hull and splash to the bow, the rod locker is not fully sealed at the nose. Even with being very careful letting the boat down, I still get some water entry over the back though my cable harnesses and power pole grommits, it adds up quick.
The stainless bar at your heels in the passenger seat? Only thing Ive found a use for that is to wedge a rod in there while trolling…
Im running a atlas jp, on a caracal with a 225 proxs which Im sure is totally different to your set up. I would play around with it and find out where it blows out a little then bump it down a touch and leave it there. I run mine on the jp gauge at “5” almost all the time, 6 if im trying to walk it out a little, and 4 if its rough or choppy out. I will add that Im using a 24p fury 4 blade, and its more of a sub surface prop. I have the 33/10 fuel tank configuration, poles, 112 fortrex. Hope this helps. Really the main thing I use that for is idling though shallow water, and loading the boat to get the extra clearance (keep my prop safe). Ive walked it up till water pressure changes and never seen any performance gains. Find that sweet spot where it doesnt blow out and leave it there. Post back on what you find works best. Im sure another sho/ caracal guy will be asking before long. Andrew at ross motorsports in TX would be the one to talk to any sho related I know he ran one like that a while and has sold alot of them. He responds on face book messenger too if you wanna chat with him on there. Nice guy!
Just keep in mind when drilling, that ye ol fuel tank is back there…
I had some peeling on the ends, I put a dab of 100% clear silicone on them, stuck them right back into those little channels. I would think any other type of spray adhesive would be compromised by humidity.

Double check your grounds too, make sure your harness didnt get pinched in the folding trailer neck.
Dan, I only have the 10g and 33g tanks. My 10g kicker is in the left rear, and has to be set to right for it to pull fuel from it. Just figured since mine has a under seat tank they didnt really put alot of thought into Left/Right on the switch. I will tell you, once I just reached down and turn it 90 deg before blast off, thinking I put it on the big tank. You wanna look like a fool? Floored it got on plane, engine shut off…. I turned the dial to the blank spot (off)
All of the additions you listed are why Im looking at the eyra so hard. Thats impressive fuel economy right there. I can swing about 3.8 out of my caracal at 57 mph, the boat needs to be fully lifted. Im guessing with how much more narrow the eyra is it lifts alot sooner. I know alot of guys are running a 25p fury 4, that might be a fun prop to look into for that rig in the summer time. After having the day box on the caracal I couldnt live without one. I just wish there was a way to make the eyra middle locker a rod locker, maybe that will come in the future.
PM sent on Fb messenger. You friends with Dennis?

Yea, Just like a 5 rod box, so you can switch out what your fishing without having to move rods all around. I dont see myself ever filling both center boxes with tackle, but you never know!
Your smart craft didnt show any codes? Sounds like a themostat opening too slow issue, or sticking open. When I first got my 2016 it did that when I launched at a ramp near a hot water discharge. You didnt happen to notice your operating temp did you? Mine at idle is around 125-130. I believe thats where the thermostats open, if you were riding around and never saw those temps could have one sticking open…
himmerlrr, good info. I need to check my strainers. I dont fish any dirty water or anything with weeds. I have taken out my thermostats for cleaning before. I wouldnt own a merc without a smart craft after having one finally.
