gotcha. thanks!
Thats a sweet new toy youve got there.Curious… did you experiment at all with flipping the unit on the gimble bracket and having the unit hang down from the end of the end of the ram mount arm? (… as opposed to how it sits on top of the ram mount arm). Dont think Ive ever seen this done, but could see how it might get the screen and controls a little bit closer.
Theres good fishing to be had right next door at Cayuga lake. Cayuga lake state park ramp is around a 1/2 from Geneva (top of Seneca).Lots of good fish in this lake, and you dont have to go far from the ramp.
Wait for others to confirm, but Im fairly certain that mercury advises against the use of a second water separator on the optimax engines. If you havent already, I would recommend that you instead update your fuel lines.
Well how about that.As a tournament guy who rarely wins anything, Im pretty stoked. lol. Funny too that I saw this post as I dont frequent these forums as much as I should.Guess Ill just take this opportunity to tell yall how happy I still am with my Puma after two years and how I cant see myself in any other boat but this one.Shes served/serves me well.Thank you BCB for doin what you do!
The first time I had a coil issue (2007 pro xs), it did not show up when the tech ran a diagnostic with the computer. He had to manually check each cylinder before finding the culprit coil/driver.Not 100% on this, but I believe it was because the bad coil was still firing… just not at the level it should have been.
SN, did you check for voltage at the battery, or is the light just not turning on?I have the same charger. One of the lights works intermittently. When light is out though, if I put a voltmeter to the leads at the battery, it reads as still supplying juice.Had the same issue with the 4 bank version of this charger… wasnt so lucky. If the light was out, there was no juice.
Would mounting to the outer right side of the console be an option?Seems like you would be able to rotate the unit in that location fairly easily while keeping your field of vision clear. … Unless youre not into the ram/unit being on the outside of the hull… I know some folks arent a fan of this.
Thanks guys.Ill mention it to parts when I call for a new caliper, but you guys might want to suggest to them that they advise adding extra loctite to the bolts as well.Dont know if Im the only one this has happened to, but an ounce of prevention may help out someone else down the line.
Just took a peek at the final results.Congrats to Allan Glasgow on the win…. who is looking good in the Bass Cat shirt and hat!http://www.americanbassan…sdetails.php?news_id=610
Have you checked with a meter that you are definitely getting 24 volts at the bow?
Porky/Phil,Boat has long been sold.I bought it from Jimmy Hustler around two years ago and have doubled those engine hours.Always wondered while it was still up on impactfishing. The only scam involved in the purchase was that I was told this was a 83mph boat before purchasing. lol.
Overlay data should offer you, at least, the time and voltage along with depth and water temp.
I dont think spray would be a concern as you should still have enough room to raise the talon to avoid that.I have a talon mounted to a slidemaster and it is a couple/few inches higher than yours. With the extra bracket height I have, there is still considerable wobbling while driving or running the boat. That might be something you want to pay attention to.Still, my bracket bolts at the jackplate have held solid since the day I installed. Knock on wood. When I drive any distance, I will drop the talon down in the bracket a couple feet to stabilize it.
northern basser wrote:I will pay attention to the wobbling for sure. The bracket does feel really solid, but it would not be a good day if it came loose running at speed. I would not be very happy happy happy!!My initial concern with the wobbling was that it may lead to loose bolts. I still check them periodically, but they have proven themselves to stay tight. Now I lower the talon when driving to prevent the innards from rattling around too much and to relieve stress on the bracket. My bracket is bent has been bent to heck and back, but thats another story. (Though I will mention that if you ever use your talon to control a drift, remember to put it back up before jumping up on plane. lol).
