Yep, Im doing the same.Catman, any chance of you taking a pic of your raised bracket?I have a 95 Pantera II and it was previously mounted on the transom.Im looking for another location. Thanks, Ben.
Joe, I have a 95 Pantera II and just replaced my starting battery.I have the old electronic dash, but it still works fine. When I changed out my starting battery, I had to remove it for a period of a couple days. I didnt lose the engine hours. (Dont know about any other engine history related features). One tip though, I would take pictures or label the wires that go to each terminal. This way hooking it back up when youre in the driveway or on the water is stress free. Dont know anything about jumping a starting batt off of the trolling batts. Im all ears though….
Sweet. Thanks in advance for the pics.Ben.
I am the one you met. Thanks for the hat. I was following the weights online and noticed Morizu was making a move. So much for this year being worse than last (weight wise)!!Thanks again,Ben
Yup,Im 66″ also and need to move mine as well.Ive got an older Pantera II and assume as you move it towards the front, you need to move it closer to the middle of the boat to prevent running a screw though the hull.A pic would be great Scubaman. Thanks, Ben.
Im trying, Im trying….!!!!dbasketman, Its a 95 Pantera II. I usually carry, what I would consider a very light load. (Usually the port side gas 3/4 full (Starboard side 1/4), five rods and enough tackle for a big bag.)This IS my quest to change props.I wouldnt think I would need anymore rpms than the 5750 that Im running now. (But I dont know that for sure)Shouldnt this hull run faster than 62 mph? If so, roughly what is the difference I should expect. ( A little one like 3 mphs??….or like 7-8 mph?)I was directed towards a 25 pitch Laser II, a 25 pitch Trophy and a 25 pitch Tempest by BCB when I called parts.I guess Ill include a 24 Fury to that list as well….?????Thanks again.
All of this is good info.I trying to come to the SEBCOG and have some of you knowledgeable peeps help me measure my jackplate height. After this I think I can start narrowing the culprit down. (One or both problems)Any other suggestions are welcomed. Thanks, Ben.
Also, I dont know what the black canister is on your boat.I only have a fuel filter that screws onto my motor. You guys with all of your new fancy boats and all….
I just replaced mine recently. I have a 95 P2.Easiest thing Ive done to the boat.1. I was told the larger line is the “balance line” that equilizes pressure between the tanks. (If you have only 1 tank, Im at a lose).2. I wasnt suggested to replace this line, so….I guess its ok. Dunno about that. In addition, there are lines from the tanks to the fuel selector. I asked about these and BCB said they were fine. If I remember correctly, BCB handles all hoses except from the selector to the motor. This hose in question is then provided by the motor provider, which youd think would be up to date. (This is apparently not always the case).3. When I bought the replacement kit from BCB, they provided MORE than enough fuel line. I replaced the line from the fuel tank selector to the bulb, the kit came with a new bulb, and from the bulb to the connector that attaches the front of the motor (with the spring loaded clip).BCB said that the bulb is the weakest link in these hoses systems. Something like, they cant be…or were never rated for fuel resistance. 4. Yeah, loosening the hose clamps, cutting the hose to the appropriate length and tighten back up. Thats what I did. (The bulb is directional, indicated by arrows, if I recall. Make sure this goes in the right direction.Let me know if you have questions.Im no mechanic, but I can handle the easy stuff.Ben.
Sorry, I dont have a stand alone filter in my bilge.Mines attached to the motor.Towels, coffee cans, etc…..I dont know.Good luck.
Yep, Ive got a 95 PII and finally got rid of an old Spinelli Bros prop. (Per pretty much everyones advice….Yeah).I got a “new to me” Trophy 25 and am also looking to improve a sluggish holeshot.Same story as well,….once it gets on plane, it runs just fine. BCB, Keep bringin the suggestions.Im also all ears. Thanks
Just for reference…I have a 95 PII with a 200 Mariner.Im running a 25 P Trophy plus that I just got. Im SURE my jackplate is NOT where it needs to be, as Im the fourth owner of this boat.Im running 62-63 mph at @5700 rpms. (88-92 degrees)My point….even with my rig setup poorly, Im getting this. Id like to think when my older rig is set up properly, Id be able to get 67.ish.P.S. There are a lot of really knowledgeable people on this board that are great resources for your “new to you” boat.Dont be afraid to machine gun questions. Also, BCB can help with anything..(and actually sound like they like helping).Ben.
I have the same boat with a Mariner 200 hp.My best top end was 63…once, with a 26 pitch.Im quite sure mine is setup poorly, so Ill be watching you guys for advice.Im very interested to hear how your holeshot is too. (Is it just adequate and then really shines on the top end…..or jumps out of the hole and then gradually inches up to top end….etc, etc.)Thanks, Ben.
I have the same boat and motor.Pretty please post what your speed and rpms are when you get it.At WOT today, I ran 61.5 mph with 5750 rpms.Im also running the 25p trophy plus with 3 holes totally plugged and one with the smallest hole open.I experienced blow-out when I removed a whole plug and ran it with an empty socket.Im quite sure my jackplate is not in the optimum place and honestly dont know where it is now in relation to pad.Im having a hard time dialing my boat in….holeshot is really bad.Again, please update me on the results you get. Thanks, Ben.
Jman, Give me a shout also about one of your used Hds 7s.(IM or email)b_kromer@hotmail.comThanks, Ben
